THE IDEA OF PROJECT193
project193 stands for the equality of people who live together in one world.
All people are equal - no matter what gender, color, religion, culture, origin ... of course there are differences, but all people are in their nature the same no matter what language they speak, what customs they have and where they live. A bird is a bird, whether eagle or vulture. A fish is a fish, whether salmon or tuna. Why should it be different just for the people?
project193 is a global art project to demonstrate this equality of people who live together in a wonderful world that we must protect – together with all the effort and consistency. With each project193 I would like to raise awareness that people get up in the whole world for the same things … work, have fun, eat, help, communicate, dispute, love, cry, laugh …
So every work of art 193 consists of things of everyday life, whose usefulness and purpose is always the same for their owner, no matter where in the world. A cell phone is a cell phone made for calls. Water is a vital fuel for our bodies. A plastic bag helps us transport things and becomes increasingly symbolic of resource waste and environmental pollution. Football is an event that brings joy to people of all nations. Condoms protect people from diseases, no matter what body color, religion or language they speak.
Each project193 has a specific topic and to this 193 more or less same items from 193 different countries are required. These 193 individual contributions will be summarized to one work of art based on this subject.
The newly created work of art of the global single contributions should intended to encourage the viewer to think. Reflecting on the work of art and about themselves. About the humans and our unique earth in which we all live together. Thinking to meet sometimes different choices in everyday life. In small and large scale. How people deal with people, even if they are different. Thinking, how to live together peacefully so that everyone can be happy. How to live in harmony with others and our nature.
This peaceful coexistence will become increasingly important, so we do not end in chaos. Nothing is currently more current than again to find a peaceful, harmonious and happy humanity.
“I want to make people happy.
Happy people form a happy society”.
